Always fancied a Scottish terrier, is their temprement similar to westie's?

More or less, some less / more than others.....typical terriers really, like most in general, loads of character and a very strong will......can vary though a lot from dog to dog and its environment...ie what the humans are like that it lives with as with most dogs.....

Not a good fit in my view with your dogs.

I tend to find given the choice dogs would rather be with dogs and given a further choice would prefer to be with their own breed....

For example a 'defensive' Jack Russell living with a 'defensive' German Shepherd could easily result in one day the owner coming home to find a dead Jack Russell.....
