some piccies of my dogs
Hi, here is a few pic's of some of my dogs. I kept two of my dogs ungroomed to show new owners how much they can moult, now I can show the pic's instead of keep saying the same thing over and over again. James I've included one of my male and bitch[3rd one down] my male constantly checks my bitches urine as she does it, he has always done this regardless of her being in season or not, any surgestions as to why? He is on the whole a mild tempered dog, a wooha with the ladies and not an alpha.

Re: some piccies of my dogs
Thanks Lyn,
Great pics, for those that don't know the Utonagan breed is made up of GSD, Mal and Huskie.....the idea being to create a wolf lookalike without using wolf blood......
I would say the males sniff's her pee just to check if she is in good health, possibly looking to see if she is in season or not, what shes eaten, drunk, what mood she is in...I find it hard to comprehend what it would be like to have the sense of smell dogs have which we know is at least 1 part per trillion....them having 200 million receptors in their nose compared to our 5 million....
Does he also sniff where she has recently be sitting or laying down?
On a slightly different subject as you have had many years experience of breeding dogs.....it is known that male wolves have a season as well as the females...member here wolfdog has noticed this with his male Sarloos and wondered if anyone else had noticed this in domestic dogs?
